Installation & Deployment

Set up ssh-manager from scratch, configure Docker, and deploy to production.

Two Docker Compose stacks, switched with one flag.

Production

docker compose -f docker-compose.yml up -d --build

Builds optimized static assets and a compiled API image. Any code change requires a rebuild.

Development

docker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.dev.yml up -d --build api web

Source is bind-mounted; both the frontend (Vite) and backend (ts-node-dev) hot-reload on save. Lacks the production image's heavier system tools (WinRM/PsExec exec, VMware power actions, network scanning) — use the production stack to test those specifically.

Prerequisites

  • Docker + Docker Compose v2 (docker compose, not docker-compose)
  • PostgreSQL-compatible volume/host
  • Linux host recommended (for full network scanning capabilities)
  • Optional: Telegram bot token for alerts

First Boot

  1. Migrations run automatically on first boot (150+ of them, via Kysely).
  2. Log in with the bootstrap admin account, or configure SSO in Settings.
  3. Follow the Getting Started steps to add your first server.

Stats

  • 150+ database migrations

  • 30-day metric retention
