Ping Logs
Every ping attempt, logged and filterable.
Every ping attempt — whether triggered by the scheduler or manually — is written to the ping log at /logs. Logs are never overwritten.
Log Entry Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Device | Name and ID of the pinged host |
| Status | success or fail |
| Latency | Round-trip time in milliseconds (null on failure) |
| Error | Failure reason if applicable (timeout, unreachable, etc.) |
| Timestamp | UTC time of the ping attempt |
Filtering Logs
The log list supports filtering by:
- Device (by ID)
- Status —
successorfail - Date range — start and end datetime pickers
Logs are paginated. Use the LOAD MORE button at the bottom to fetch additional entries.
Log Retention
PyPing does not automatically prune old logs. For large deployments, add a scheduled PostgreSQL job (e.g. delete entries older than 90 days) or use the export feature to archive before manual deletion.
