Overview

Map every device on your LAN — discovery, classification, and investigation.

pyIPScanner is a desktop network reconnaissance tool: it sweeps your subnet, fingerprints every host it finds — router, phone, camera, smart plug — and lets you drill into open ports, banners, and OS guesses with one click.

What it does

A quick scan finds every live IP on the subnet in seconds; a deep scan goes host-by-host for full port, service, and identity detail. Everything runs locally — no cloud lookup, no telemetry.

01

Discover

ARP sweep + mDNS browse + UPnP/SSDP find every reachable host, resolve hostnames via five fallback methods, and pull MAC vendor from a 300+ entry OUI table.

02

Classify

Sixteen device types are inferred by combining port signatures, MAC vendor, hostname keywords, mDNS service names, and TTL.

03

Investigate

Deep scan adds a full 1-65535 port sweep, service banners, SNMP sysDescr/sysName, NetBIOS name, UPnP device description, and a TTL-based OS fingerprint.
