Advanced Modules

PVD Library ships with several advanced modules beyond core circulation, for libraries that need finer operational control.

Batch Baskets

Group multiple books into a "basket" so staff can check in or check out several items for a member in one action, instead of scanning one barcode at a time. Useful for classroom sets or bulk returns.

Circulation Rules

Define custom loan policies per member type or item category — different loan durations, renewal limits, and fine rates for, say, staff vs. members, or reference books vs. general circulation.

Library Calendar

Configure the library's operating hours and closure/holiday dates. Due dates and overdue calculations automatically account for closed days.

Taxonomy Management

Manage the catalog's supporting metadata — authors, categories, publishers, and other classification lists — from one place instead of editing each book record individually.

Purchase Orders

Track book purchase requests from initial suggestion through ordering and receipt, so acquisitions have a clear paper trail.

Staff Task Board

A kanban-style board for library staff to track day-to-day operational tasks (shelving, repairs, processing new arrivals, etc.).

AI Assistant

A built-in assistant staff can query in natural language for catalog lookups and operational questions, without needing to build a report manually.

Notifications

Automated email and Telegram notifications for due dates, overdue items, and reservation holds — keeping members informed without manual follow-up.

Database Tools

Admin-only utilities for backing up the database, cleaning up stale records, and running health checks — available from Admin → Settings.
